How much are family portrait sessions?

What location can we go to for photos?

Anywhere you like! Included in your collection fee is travel anywhere within 40kms of Sale, so if you aren’t sure on locations, I have a few local spots I like to recommend that are included, otherwise we can come up with something unique to suit your family.

Do you travel?

Yes! I’m always up to travelling to new locations. You may have a special place you like to go together as a family, this could include a beach spot, favourite camping ground, swimming hole, parks, walking tracks or even simply your own home or backyard. There will just be a small travel fee to cover these extra costs if outside of 40km from Sale.

When is the best time of the day for photos?

During the ‘golden hour’ around sunset time in the late afternoon. This gives us the best results with nice warm lighting rather than at midday when the sun can be quite harsh with shadows. Depending on the time of year, start times can be anytime between 4pm to 7:30pm. This all get reconfirmed in the lead up to your booked date. If this clashes with kids bedtimes we can adjust timings to suit or perhaps opt for an early morning sunrise time.

How long will it go for?

The shoot itself will go for approximately 40-60minutes. I like to keep it casual and allow plenty of time to wonder around, chat and let everyone relax into a comfortable setting to be photographed.

My partner doesn’t like having their photo taken will this make it harder to get good photos?

This is completely fine and a common concern people have. I’ll keep the photos casual and let them ease into an environment they feel comfortable with. We can keep the focus on the kids and interactions together and they can take a break anytime they need to.

We haven’t had photos taken before will you guide us with what to do?

Yes of course! I’ll give you all few prompts to distract you from feeling like you have to look and smile the whole time. I’ll be looking for your interactions together, those bursts of laughter, playful moments and cuddles.

What should we wear?

What you wear is important as it sets the style for the whole session and will say a lot about who you are as a family and your personalities when you look back at the photos in years to come.

The colours and tones of my editing style work really nice over warm earthy clothing style.

I have put together some visual inspiration to help you with this and will send this over once a booking is in place.

What if it rains on the day we have scheduled?

We will keep in contact in the days leading up to your shoot date. If weather is looking poor we can look at other days nearby. Same goes if something comes up and you can no longer make the date work due to work or other commitments, just let me know as soon as possible and we can reschedule .

How long will we have to wait before seeing some photos?

In the days following your session I will deliver a small collection of some highlights from the shoot via email. These are given sooner so you can share and admire some images while I get to working on your full gallery.

We prefer our privacy, and don’t want our photos shared publicly on your social media & website. Is this an issue?

Of course it’s not an issue! I understand you may like your privacy so if you prefer i didn’t share any images of your family over my social media or website thats cool with me, just let me know.

How will we receive our photos?

In approximately 4 weeks time you should receive your finished digital images, delivered via a private online gallery to easily download your images or make in gallery print purchases via the shopping cart. Your digital images can be downloaded as both high resolution for printing use and low resolution perfect for sharing over on your social media or via email to family. 

Do you offer printing and album design services?

Yes, these are my favourite! I can create some incredible wall art or album products that are all custom designed and hand crafted so you can admire your images for a lifetime. I can also provide artistic input on wall galleries, placement in your home, and size given your budget, style, and personal taste.
